The Goose with the Golden Eggs

Well, here is the story. One day countryman was going to the nest of his goose and found there was an egg all yellow and glittering. When he took it up, it was as heavy as lead and he was going to throw it away, because he thought a trick had been played upon him. But he took it home on a second thought and soon found to his delight that it was an egg of pure gold. Every morning the same thing occurred and he soon became rich by selling its eggs. As he grew rich he grew greedy and thought to get at once all the gold the goose could give. He killed the goose and opened it: only to find nothing.

The Dog and the Shadow

Do you like keeping an animal in your house? Okay. Do you know the reason why people keep a dog in their house? Don’t you know that sometimes a dog can be so greedy that he steals all we have? This is a story about a greedy dog.

It happened that a dog had got a piece of meat and was carrying it home in his mouth to eat it in peace. Now on his way home, he had to cross a plank lying across a running brook. As he crossed, he looked down and saw his own shadow reflected in the water beneath. Thinking it was another dog with another piece of meat, he made up his mind to have that also. So, he made a snap at the shadow in the water, but as he opened his mouth the piece of meat fell out, dropped into the water and was never seen any more.

So, what lesson can you learn from this story?

the beatles

The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960, and one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music.[1] From 1962 the group consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). Rooted in skiffle and 1950s rock and roll, the group later worked in many genres ranging from pop ballads to psychedelic rock, often incorporating classical and other elements in innovative ways. The nature of their enormous popularity, which first emerged as the "Beatlemania" fad, transformed as their songwriting grew in sophistication. The group came to be perceived as the embodiment of progressive ideals, seeing their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s.

With an early five-piece line-up of Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe (bass) and Pete Best (drums), the Beatles built their reputation in Liverpool and Hamburg clubs over a three-year period from 1960. Sutcliffe left the group in 1961, and Best was replaced by Starr the following year. Moulded into a professional outfit by music store owner Brian Epstein after he offered to act as the group's manager, and with their musical potential enhanced by the hands-on creativity of producer George Martin, the Beatles achieved mainstream success in the United Kingdom in late 1962 with their first single, "Love Me Do". Gaining international popularity over the course of the next year, they toured extensively until 1966, then retreated to the recording studio until their break-up in 1970. Each then found success in an independent musical career. McCartney and Starr remain active; Lennon was shot and killed in 1980, and Harrison died of cancer in 2001.

During their studio years, the Beatles produced what critics consider some of their finest material including the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), widely regarded as a masterpiece. Four decades after their break-up, the Beatles' music continues to be popular. The Beatles have had more number one albums on the UK charts, and held down the top spot longer, than any other musical act.[2] According to RIAA certifications, they have sold more albums in the United States than any other artist.[3] In 2008, Billboard magazine released a list of the all-time top-selling Hot 100 artists to celebrate the US singles chart's fiftieth anniversary, with the Beatles at number one.[4] They have been honoured with 7 Grammy Awards,[5] and they have received 15 Ivor Novello Awards from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.[6] The Beatles were collectively included in Time magazine's compilation of the 20th century's 100

The government has decided to submit the draft of the bill against pornography and pornographic acts. The bill states that anyone engaging in pornography is punishable by law. This includes public acts such as spouses kissing and people sunbathing in bikini or swimwear. As a consequence, the bill causes controversy.

On the one hand, the government argues that the bill is made to protect women’s right. Women have so far been the object of exploitation in mass media and this only gives more benefits to the owner of the business.

Woman activist, on the other hand, argue that the bill will limit women’s freedom. They believe the bill will dictate what women should wear and on how to dress and behave. If they fail following the rule they will get penalties between Rp 50 million and Rp 1 billion.

Nevertheless, I do support the bill against pornography and pornographic acts. I believe that the bill can decrease the rampant pornography shown or written in mass media that gives bad effects on young generations.

Weather is the physical condition of the atmosphere at a particular time. It includes temperature, air pressure and water content.

Weather is produced when air moves from place to place. This moving air is known as wind. Winds are caused by warm air rising and cooler air moving to replace it. Warm air is usually less dense than cool air; therefore, it creates low air pressure. Cool air is more dense and creates high air pressure.

Usually we have fine weather when the air pressure is high, and we will have clouds, rain or snow when air pressure drops.

A plane needs air pressure under their wings to stay up in the air. As they move forward, the higher air pressure underneath their wings pushes them upward and gives them lift.

The smooth, streamlined shape of the plan allows air to flow easily over its surface. This helps you to reduce the drag caused by the air pushing against the plan and allows it to move rapidly through the air.

Plans move forward using engine. This movement is called thrust. Moving forward keeps a stream of moving air passing over the wings, which allows the plane to stay up in the air. If the engines faild. the plane will begin to descend very quickly

The air above the wing moves faster so it is at the lower pressure than the air under the wing

The air under the wing moves more slowly and is slightly squashed so it is at a higher pressure than the air above the wing.
